During the course, it is mainly taught introducing issues about Greek Folk Song: 1. The definition of the folk song. 2. The discovery of the Greek Folk Songs. 3. The collection and publication of songs. The adulteration of the songs. The classification of the folk song according to the Folklore and Literature Research. 5. The origin of the folk song. 6. Techniques of the folk song: metrics and verse. 7. Basic surface structures (homogenous terms, pleonastic repetition, forms of opposition, forms of symmetry) 8. Stereotyped expressions. 9. The procession and the conditions of the folk song's creation. 10. The contemporary directions of the research. 11. Analysis of the texts according to their category 12. The "Other" in Greek Folk Songs 13. Greek Folk Songs and written literature.
