Ανθρωπογεωγραφία (θεματικές περιοχές)

The course commences with various national schools of geography, the formation of geography as a discipline, method, specialized vocabulary, theories, «revolutions» (i.e. the quantitative revolution) and «turns» (i.e. the changes in the direction of culture) that have influenced it.
In addition to this section on theory, the course deepens the student's knowledge in terms of various areas of knowledge per thematic area and offers an interpretation of the processes, links and mutual influences interconnecting phenomena on different spatial scales. Both a global and local perspective is necessary for an understanding of population dynamics, economic growth, the political organization of space, the rural versusurban use of land, industrialization and de-industrialization and economic development.
