The course examines material culture, the organization and use of space and architecture in Neolithic communities in Thessaly, Macedonia and Thrace. It examines the history or archaeological research in northern Greece in general and problems of dating the various phases of the Neolithic period.
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with a period in the history art that is situated in a particular time and place. It also aims to acquaint them with the basic concepts and principles of art during the Baroque, with technical developments and with the relationship of Baroque art to history.
Στόχος του μαθήματος είναι η εξοικείωση των φοιτητριών και των φοιτητών με τον μουσειακό χώρο και τις λειτουργίες του, όπως και η ανάπτυξη δεξιοτήτων που αφορούν στη διαχείριση των μουσείων και συναφών πολιτισμικών χώρων. Ιδιαίτερο βάρος δίνεται στα λαογραφικά/εθνογραφικά μουσεία και στη διαχείριση του λαϊκού πολιτισμού, μέσα από τη συλλογή, τεκμηρίωση, συντήρηση, έρευνα και έκθεση τεχνουργημάτων λαϊκής τέχνης. Επιπλέον, οι φοιτήτριες και οι φοιτητές καθοδηγούνται και ενθαρρύνονται στην άσκηση καταγραφής και τεκμηρίωσης μουσειακών αντικειμένων.
The course deals with the main artistic trends and tendencies in painting in Orthodox lands of eastern Europe and the Middle East. At the same time, it places particular emphasis on the historical and ideological context in which the painters worked, so as to offer an iconographic interpretation of the painting produced during the Ottoman occupation.
The course deals with the development over time of the peoples of the Balkans during the Middle Ages, from the settlement of the Slavs to the Ottoman conquest. It examines the foundation of autonomous or independent states in the Balkans and the shaping of a distinct cultural character in the region that arose from the confluence of Byzantine and Slavic culture.
